The primary responsibility of the Police Department is to ensure the safety and well being of all people in the Village. The Department enforces all laws in a professional manner and the well-trained staff responds to the emergency and daily needs of the community. An active partnership with the citizens and business community is a critical component of the overall success of the Department.

On July 31, 2010, the Huntley Police Department was awarded full accreditation status by CALEA.
The purpose of CALEA is to establish standards of professional excellence for public safety agencies, and to develop and administer a process for recognizing excellence. Upon acceptance, the Huntley Police Department became only the second agency in McHenry County to obtain this coveted award.
